Raiden Shogun: protect the burst window you built
Resolve, the opening slash and Musou Isshin form a sequence. Cutting it short changes more than one damage number.

Coverage: Premise and early character setup
The preparation belongs to the burst
Secret Art: Musou Shinsetsu consumes Resolve to strengthen its opening and subsequent attacks. Raiden’s teammates therefore help prepare the state in which she takes the field. Treating her burst as an isolated button leaves out part of its design.
The value of a teammate’s burst is not only the Resolve it contributes. The team still has to survive and complete its own actions. A rotation that exists only to produce an attractive opening slash can be less useful in an actual encounter.
Musou Isshin is a commitment
During Musou Isshin, successful attacks can restore energy to nearby party members under the talent’s stated limits. Leaving the field ends the state. Swapping away early therefore changes both the attack window and the energy return you expected the team to receive.
Before starting it, check that the target is available to hit and that a movement or phase transition is not about to consume the window. Preparing a powerful state just as a boss becomes inaccessible is a timing problem, not a reason to immediately change every artifact.
Use the talent’s damage category
The talent text specifically treats the state’s normal, charged and plunging attack damage as Elemental Burst damage. Animation resemblance is not a safe substitute for reading that classification when evaluating a bonus.
For comparisons, record the complete sequence, energy state and target. The reference page’s coefficients are inputs to that assessment, not a claim that all attacks share the same trigger rules.
